Course on Zebrafish as an Alternative Model

The inaugural zebrafish course was organized by the Sri Lanka Association for Laboratory Animal Science (SLALAS) in collaboration with the Medical Research Institute (MRI), the Sri Lanka College of Veterinary Surgeons (SLCVS), the 3Rs Centre in Laboratory Animal Science in Sri Lanka, and the Society for Alternatives to Animal Testing in Sri Lanka (SAAT SL) on December 16th and 17th, 2023. The course featured a blend of online lectures and hands-on practical sessions. Distinguished experts leading the sessions included Prof. Mangala Gunatilake, Dr. Mayuri Thammitiyagodage, Dr. Prasadi de Silva, Dr. Samanthika Jagoda, Dr. Ramani Karunakaran, and Mr. Gayan Deshapriya. The course attracted 25 participants, among whom were 2 veterinarians.
