Organised by the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association in collaboration with Sri Lanka College of Veterinary Surgeons on 20 th January 2020 at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, University of Peradeniya. Dr. Bhagya Don of Avenue Animal Clinic, Melbourne, Australia was the resource person.
The workshop consisted of a Discussion on; Preoperative management/fracture repair options, Basic Principles of fracture repair, Conservative treatments and pin fixation, Application principles of bone screws, Bone plating principles, Sterile technique / Analgesia and antibiotics, Surgical approaches – tips followed by a hands-on practical session on cadavers. 23 Veterinarians from the private sector, Department of Wildlife and Conservation, Department of Zoological Gardens and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science participated in the workshop Coordinated by Dr. Niranjala de Silva, President, Sri Lanka Veterinary Association (2019/2021).
